We have strong brands equities: 5 of top 10 selling brands including Wall’s, Magnum, Ben &Jerry’s. We are investing to unlock the full growth potential of Ice Cream as a standalone entity, once we separate from Unilever, which is planned to happen by November 2025.

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Controlling team plays critical role in the organisation. They are responsible for accounting, reporting, risk management and controls. Specifically the Risk and Controls team are responsible for:

  • Pro-actively mobilise the risk management agenda, ensuring high quality risk assessments are conducted & risks are appropriately managed.
  • Oversee adherence to Global Financial Controls Framework.
  • Perform Financial Controls Assessment and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure the Control Health Indicators are managed and improving in line with the targets.
  • Engage with non-Finance teams to drive focus on operational controls.
  • Understand root causes of issues & poor performance, identify where controls are not operating and drive remediation through relevant business leaders.
  • Act as Business Information Security Officer.
  • Ensure Business Continuity and Disaster Plans are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with Global and Local Policies.
  • Leading Local control projects & Internal Audit.
  • Coordinating/participating in new initiatives from GCAD resulting from new guidance or other requirements including new Control Frameworks implementation.
  • Developing training to embed a risk and controls culture across the organisation.
  • Ability to align risk management practices with organizational goals and strategy.

The ice cream risk and controls lead will be the owner of the ice cream risk and controls framework and it critical that this person is available to lead the requirements for the controls framework and influence the set up global/market/hub processes and capabilities for Controllership activities for standalone Ice Cream Company and ensure sufficient knowledge transfer between UL and separated IC business, as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience

- Qualified Chartered Accountant or other relevant professional qualification with 4 years post qualification experience (Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) can be a plus).

- Experience and knowledge in the field of risk management and controls.

- SOX audit experience or previous controls experience in a SOX scope company

- Experience in advisory or audit for a Big Four.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse, interpret and communicate data.

- Strong written, and verbal communication and influencing skills.

- Good interpersonal skills to build rapport with various stakeholders.

- Experience and awareness of working in multicultural and multilocation teams.

- Familiarity with risk management software, data analytics tools and reporting platforms.

- Ability to explain complex risk concepts in simple terms to non-technical audiences.

- Flexibility to handle rapidly changing environments and new challenges.
