IBIS Billing System Lead

Summary:

We are looking for a technical resource with a functional mindset who understands how billing systems for the satellite communications industry should operate. This position will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of billing solutions for internal and external customer engagements utilizing IBIS products and platform. The role will support all aspects of Speedcast’s billing processes across multiple functions.

What you will do:

  • Document and analyze the existing IBIS ecosystem’s effectiveness and efficiency to improve and leverage full functionality.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, external customers, data architects, business analysts and developers to develop strategies and solutions that are of high quality to enable business value.
  • Establish and maintain relationship with IBIS vendor on new service introductions, implementation of new service, pricing plans, manage installation and configuration of new applications, features, modules, and APIs.
  • Develop, distribute, and coordinate in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new modules and product features.
  • Ensure customer product configurations and integrations work effectively and are secure and compliant with Speedcast’s Cyber policies and requirements.
  • Create reports and dashboards to monitor performance of the IBIS ecosystem and track key team metric goals and KPIs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects and initiatives and prioritize and manage backlogs of work according to the needs of the business.
  • Develop and communicate training and documentation for all end users and facilitate training.
  • Work with IBIS vendor and IT infrastructure teams to coordinate change control and production deployments.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills with ability to identify and resolve issues related to billing systems and related processes.
  • Strong ability to translate requirements of activating services through downstream processes of billing resulting in accurate billing.
  • Strong ability to track the lifecycle of data throughout the system.
  • Ability to interpret large sets of data in complex database structures.
  • Ability to understand downstream impacts of changes made to systems.
  • Logical and efficient critical thinker with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct research into IBIS ecosystem for related issues and products.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to coordinate the efforts of others and drive consensus across a diverse group of functional, technical, and business team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior leadership as well as technical and business team members.
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable for meeting deadlines and commitments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business systems, or other related field.
  • 3+ years experience and understanding of billing systems and technologies, including IBIS, as well as experience with related technologies such as databases, APIs, CDRs, telecom networks, protocols, and standards.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and reporting.
  • Experience with high-volume, recurring billing and pricing models unique to each customer or reseller.
  • Experience in the Information Technology or Telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement projects at both a technical and leadership level.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and documenting ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
