IB - DCM Origination CEEMEA - Associate

The DCM Syndicate team are product specialists responsible for winning debt capital market business and providing expertise to frequent and prospective issuers in partnership with Origination, Rates Trading and the Institutional Client Group.  Typical clients include public sector entities, most notably sovereigns, multilateral development banks and agencies as well as corporates and Financial Institutions. The primary products offered by the team are public bonds, Sukuk, private placements/EMTN programme issuance and liability management.

Debt origination clients are typically the largest and most sophisticated parties in the financing market and as a result the transactions are often high profile.  As a result, covering these clients can be a demanding task and expectations are high both internally and externally.  Debt origination is also a highly competitive field, with many banks positioning for similar types of business. The CEEMEA DCM team has regional responsibility for Central / Eastern Europe, CIS / Russia, Middle East and Africa (North, Sub-Saharan, including South Africa).

Your key responsibilities:

• The candidate will have responsibility for the origination and execution of primary market debt transactions and providing debt capital markets expertise to clients across CEEMEA.

• The role will involve frequent interaction with all areas of Deutsche Bank, including Debt Syndicate, the Risk Management Solutions team in the Corporate Bank, Investment Banking Coverage (IBC) and Regional Management, in addition to infrastructure areas including legal and compliance

• The role requires a candidate who experience in marketing, originating, structuring and executing capital market offerings with clients in the region

Your skills and experience:

• Fluent in French with an additional language of Arabic and/or Russian

• Established in Dubai and covering the client base.

• Previous experience in DCM Origination

• Exceptional skills using Bloomberg, Excel and an array of conventional DCM market data sources to efficiently analyse information and prepare high quality content for issuers

• The ability and willingness to work as an integral team member, managing time efficiently, in order to work simultaneously on a wide array of different projects, each of which will move at a different pace

• Confidence questioning the status quo and existing processes, coupled with the ability to design and implement high quality solutions and idea generation, for which prior experience with similar clients would be highly additive

• Strong awareness of the macro-environment and political developments, with prior experience advising public sector clients, corporates and FIs on fundraising vital

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the candidate would be expected to form strong relationships with clients and colleagues.  Established network of DCM and FIC professionals across the Investment Bank would be a significant asset

• The ability to identify products which are relevant for your client and to articulate the implications and strategic considerations in a clear and concise matter
