The Identity and Access Management Engineering Manager (IAM EM) is responsible for the IAM product engineering workforce and software product engineering practices in IAM domain. (S)he drives the digital transformation towards a product engineering organization. The EM is hierarchically responsible for multiple Engineers in one or more teams. (S)he is directly responsible for all the HR tasks and owns the WoW in cooperation with the other EMs.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining oversight of team composition, including gap analysis between required skill-levels and current qualifications. Ensures a good connection with the PM and EM and fosters good collaboration with other colleagues
- Lead, coach, and develop employees by assessing qualifications and career ambitions. Act as a mentor, building an empowered team focused on delivery. Foster a culture of ownership and cooperation within the team.
- Leads engineers ensuring high availability with configuration management and effective incident management. Transforms teams into future-ready software delivery organizations through modern practices like CI, automated deployments, and monitoring.
- Supports teams in planning and delivering complex features, integrations, and reliability topics while ensuring high software quality before production.
- Coaches teams to represent NN at conferences, in articles, and open source, building NN's Product Engineering reputation. Acts as a role model in promoting NN in the labor market and speaks at engineering conferences.
- Attracts and hires talent with the team, both internally and externally. Ensures high quality in the selection of new hires.
- Takes salary related decisions, (team) training development decisions, tooling decisions. Manages the budget for the team.
- Enhance the medium and longer term performance of the team, create a good skill-mix and positive mindset with the right team dynamics
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills, empathy, negotiation and stress resistance.
- Management knowledge of modern product development practicies (Agile, TDD, CI/CD, AI, ML).
- Stakeholder management, knowledge of customers and customer needs.
- Good storyteller, experienced in conveying problems to be solved to the teams, and conveying the value of the product to the customers.
- Finance & cost optimization management. Knowledge of finance environment and products on technical level.
