Are you good with people?
Can you hold a conversation without making it weird?
Do you have the confidence to talk to a complete stranger and somehow end up discussing their commute, their kids, their weekend plans, and why they absolutely need heated seats?
Congratulations. You may have accidentally qualified yourself for automotive sales.
Jeff Wyler Hyundai of Springfield is looking for a Sales Consultant who is energetic, competitive, personable, coachable, and ready to build a career.
YOUR JOB, IN A NUTSHELLYou will help people find vehicles they love, guide them through the buying process, and make enough money doing it that your friends start asking:
“So...how's the car business?”
Your answer will hopefully be:
“Pretty darn good.”
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO-
Greet customers with a smile and make them feel welcome.
-
Talk to people — lots of people.
-
Ask questions and figure out what customers actually need instead of immediately showing them the biggest SUV on the lot.
-
Learn the Hyundai lineup well enough to explain features without sounding like you're reading the owner's manual.
-
Conduct vehicle walkarounds and test drives.
-
Demonstrate technology, safety features, convenience features, and all the buttons customers are afraid to touch.
-
Follow up with customers through phone, text, email, and our CRM.
-
Respond to internet leads quickly and professionally.
-
Build your own customer base through referrals, repeat business, prospecting, and follow-up.
-
Work with Sales Managers and Finance to help customers complete the purchase process.
-
Deliver vehicles and make sure customers know how to use the features they just spent money on.
-
Follow up after the sale because “Congratulations, here's your keys, good luck” isn't exactly our customer-retention strategy.
-
Hit your goals, track your performance, and continuously improve.
-
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
-
Have some fun while you're doing all of the above.
Let's clear something up.
You don't need to know the difference between a turbocharger and a toaster oven on Day One.
You do need to be:
-
Coachable
-
Motivated
-
Reliable
-
Competitive
-
Comfortable talking to people
