Summary Generated by Built In

Build capability. Shape culture. Support European growth.

At Sedgman, we’re expanding our global presence in critical minerals, battery materials and sustainable project delivery. As HR Manager, you will play a central role in establishing and strengthening Sedgman’s people foundations in Germany as we continue to grow our European business.

This is an opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on and influential HR leadership role at an important stage of regional growth. You will partner closely with business leaders, project teams and global People & Capability stakeholders to support local operations, workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, mobility and the employee lifecycle.

With Frankfurt established as Sedgman’s European base, you will help build the systems, processes and relationships required to support a growing team and a sustainable operating model across Germany and broader European project activity.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement people strategies that support growth across Europe.
  • Lead regional HR operations while ensuring compliance with local labour laws, regulations and employment practices.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and regional lead for GDPR compliance and employee data governance.
  • Drive alignment between European HR practices and Sedgman’s global people frameworks, policies and standards.
  • Provide strategic advice and coaching to leaders on performance, employee relations, organisational design, workforce planning and change management.
  • Support attraction, retention and succession initiatives to build sustainable workforce capability.
  • Partner with the global Talent Acquisition team on recruitment and workforce planning activities.
  • Manage international mobility activities including relocations, visas, global assignments and workforce movement across regions.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative and inclusive culture aligned with our values.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of global People & Capability initiatives and transformation programs.

What we’re looking for

You’re an experienced HR professional who combines strong local employment knowledge with a pragmatic, commercially aware and people-centred approach. You are confident operating in a growing business environment, comfortable working across cultures and jurisdictions, and able to balance strategic priorities with hands-on delivery.

  • A degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or a related discipline.
  • Significant HR generalist experience, ideally within engineering, resources, construction, project delivery or an international business environment.
  • Strong understanding of German employment requirements, HR governance, compliance and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience advising leaders on employee relations, performance, organisational change, remuneration, benefits and workplace matters.
  • Confidence working with geographically dispersed teams and influencing stakeholders across local, regional and global environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical and commercially sound advice.
  • High discretion, sound judgement and a strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to help shape the people foundations for Sedgman’s next phase of European growth. You will have the scope to influence local ways of working, support leaders through growth and change, and contribute to a business playing an important role in the critical minerals and energy transition landscape.

If you’re looking for more in your next move, you’ll find it here: more opportunity to shape culture, more impact through business partnership, more perspective through international collaboration, and more purpose in supporting meaningful project outcomes across Europe.

If this opportunity resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you. Submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant HR leadership experience and the impact you could bring to this role.

More in reach.
