Human Resources Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Human Resources Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for administering human resources policies, programs, practices, and functions in conjunction with the Human Resources Director.
As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll help create an exceptional guest experience by building and supporting engaged, high-performing teams across the resort. Through leadership partnership, associate development, and a commitment to a positive workplace culture, you’ll ensure our associates have the resources and support they need to deliver world-class hospitality every day.
Some weekend work might be required. Some travel is to be expected.
Salary Range - $65k - $75k
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all entry-level recruitment and educating managers on effective recruitment.
- Assist in creating (with assistance from Marketing) employment advertising in the newspaper and internet sites when needed.
- Attend local job fairs and career days at colleges as appropriate.
- Responsible for additional recruitment including but not limited to high schools, colleges, local job centers, etc.
- Conduct criminal background checks on all applicants.
- Conduct initial interviews on all entry-level positions and hire them or make recommendations to department managers.
- Prepare new hire paperwork as needed.
- Help manage the various internship programs and intern applicant tracking.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and personnel records.
- Respond to unemployment notices by verifying employment dates, wages, and the specific reasons for separation via state unemployment portals as necessary and representing the company during hearings by testifying and presenting documented evidence.
- Conduct reference checks/employment verification for potential associates and past associates.
- Assist HR Director and Assistant HR Director with Associate relations when needed.
- J-1 Visa administration, coordination and maintenance to include housing and related transportation needs of associates.
- Assist Training Manager in all new hire reports, coordinating new-hire orientations, or helping fill in when needed.
- Maintain job listings and Recruitment Management.
- Assist with associate benefit enrollment as necessary.

- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Ability to maintain composure while under pressure.
- Must have strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to listen effectively, understand and clarify any issues that may arise.
Preferred Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources management and or equivalent combination of experience/training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- At least 2 years of exempt HR experience.
- Knowledge of Recruitment Management ATS system is helpful.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish are helpful but not required.
