Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist plays an important role in supporting the people strategy at MAS HVAC. This position provides comprehensive HR support across multiple functions including performance management, recruiting, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Generalist partners closely with leaders and employees to ensure HR programs are implemented effectively while fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace.

This role reports to the Director of Human Resources and works closely with leaders across the organization to support business goals, employee engagement, and continued organizational growth.

*This position will eventually move to a newly built facility in Dayton, MN*

Key Responsibilities:

HR Business Partner Support

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Partner with leaders to support employee engagement, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, and team development.
  • Support organizational initiatives and change management efforts as the company continues to grow.

Performance Management

  • Support and administer the company’s performance management process including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
  • Partner with managers to address performance concerns and assist with performance improvement plans when needed.
  • Provide guidance on performance feedback, documentation, and development conversations.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to strengthen employee performance and development.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Support

  • Partner with hiring managers to support full-cycle recruiting activities for open roles.
  • Develop job postings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and facilitate the hiring process.
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Support onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.

Benefits Administration Support

  • Assist with administration of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other company-sponsored benefits.
  • Serve as a resource for employees with benefits-related questions and issue resolution.
  • Support annual open enrollment including communication and employee education.
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors and payroll to ensure accurate administration.

Compliance & HR Administration

  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support HR audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory filings when applicable.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating HR policies and the employee handbook.

Employee Relations

  • Support employee relations matters including workplace concerns, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Partner with leaders to proactively address employee concerns and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Promote respectful, professional, and inclusive workplace practices across the organization.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional Human Resources experience
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred:

  • HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting a growing, multi-location organization.
  • Experience with Paycom HRIS.
