What You’ll Do:
As our Human Resource Generalist, you’ll play a pivotal role in the daily functions of the HR department including hiring, interviewing, payroll, benefits, leave, and enforcing policies and practices. Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the entire recruiting process, including recruiting, onboarding, and orientation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for applicants and employees regarding HR inquiries, policies, and support, fostering open communication and a positive workplace environment.
- Coordinate attendance records for union employees and implement disciplinary procedures in accordance with union agreements, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement.
- Manage the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure accurate data management, streamline HR processes, and provide support for reporting and analytics.
- Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Excellent verbal and written communication along strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when appropriate.
- Committed to acting with professionalism and confidentiality, knowledgeable about employment-related laws and regulations, and adherence to company policies on safety, attendance, and appearance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of quickly learning HRIS and talent management systems, ADP or Workday preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of Human Resource Management experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a Union environment a plus.
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
