Job Description
North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT is looking to hire a Full-Time Salaried Human Resources Generalist to join our team. We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company. We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self. As a Human Resources Generalist you play a key role in maintaining a positive and productive workplace environment. This position is responsible for managing employee relations issues, providing guidance to managers, and ensuring that employee concerns are addressed in a fair and consistent manner. The HR Generalist also assists with workers' compensation and leave of absence management, supporting broader HR initiatives, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR practices and policies.
This full-time position requires the ability to work on-site and all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm.
Qualifications
Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including addressing workplace conflicts, mediating disputes, and managing disciplinary actions.
- Support the development and implementation of employee relations strategies that promote a positive work environment and align with company values.
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and violations of company policies, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Provide guidance to managers on handling performance issues, coaching, and corrective action processes.
- Monitor employee engagement and retention metrics, proposing initiatives to improve workplace culture and reduce turnover.
- Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies to maintain compliance with legal standards and best practices.
General HR Support:
- Assist in managing workers' compensation claims and leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, and other types of leaves.
- Provide backup support for coordinating leave tracking, ensuring compliance, and maintaining confidential records.
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Conduct HR-related training sessions for employees and managers.
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- HR experience with a focus on employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
- Experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
