HR Generalist

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our organization’s human resources needs. This position will be responsible for employee relations, onboarding, HR administration, compliance, recruiting and other general HR functions.

Position Responsibilities

General HR Responsibilities

  • Support new-hire onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Assist with employee relations and respond to employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and other administrative responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
  • Support special HR projects and initiatives as needed

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Full-cycle recruitment from job posting through offer and onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions
  • Source, screen, and interview qualified candidates
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates
  • Conduct reference and background checks as required
  • Prepare and extend employment offers
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and anticipated openings

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of directly applicable experience as an HR Generalist who was involved in all aspects of HR
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting practices and employment processes
  • Excellent communication, interviewing, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Working knowledge of Maryland employment laws and HR best practices
  • Knowledge of Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, DC, and /or Delaware employment laws a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to influence all levels of the Company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR a plus but not required
  • Experience with Paycom is a plus, but not required
  • Experience developing recruiting strategies and sourcing hard-to-fill positions
