Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Benefits & Compensation: Assists with benefit enrollment, payroll processing, answering inquiries regarding policies and PTO, responding to Verification of Employment (VOE) inquiries, files worker’s compensation claims, and participates in business insurance renewal .
- Compliance & Records: Maintaining employee files, updating records in HR systems, and collaborating with department leadership for compliance with federal and state regulations. Assists with reporting and external audits for benefits items such as 401k. Will run point on processing employee expenses in payroll. This includes maintaining a database for expenses and employee-issued iPads. Responds to jurisdictional unemployment claims in the state portal(s).
- Employee Relations: Serving as a liaison between staff and management, resolving grievances, and mediating disputes.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Managing all employee onboarding including pre hire phase through first day, processing E-Verify, and handling exit interviews as well as COBRA and system terminations with IT department.
- Recruiting: Will work with department hiring managers on Applicant Tracking System (ATS) along with HR team. This will include maintaining position seats, positing job requisitions, extending offers, and ensuring candidates receive and sign offer letters allowing them to begin onboarding process.
- Experience: Proven experience in specialized HR roles or general HR functions for at least 3 to 5 years.
- Skills: Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software and Microsoft Office Suite including Teams. Experience with Paycom preferred.
- Competencies: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion as well as the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
