Description
The Human Resources Generalist supports employees and leaders by fostering a positive, compliant, and productive work environment. This role ensures all HR processes are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities: Human Resources Generalist
Employee Relations & HR Compliance
- Address employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues using a problem-solving, inclusive approach.
- Lead investigations, disciplinary meetings, documentation, and terminations.
- Manage attendance point administration, incident reporting, OSHA compliance, and employee safety coordination.
- Facilitate periodic performance review cycles (annual, 90-day, and 6-month).
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Recruiting, Staffing & Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
- Oversee job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and hiring processes.
- Coordinate quarterly staffing reviews, succession planning support, and alignment of training needs.
- Administer onboarding, orientation, I-9 verification, background checks, M2M setup, and all new-hire documentation.
- Ensure employees receive full onboarding across safety, compliance, job qualification, Paylocity, Unipoint, M2M, and benefits.
Payroll Administration
- Create monthly payroll processing checklists.
- Process biweekly payroll, ensuring accurate taxes, benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
- Collaborate with managers on timecard review and payroll input responsibilities.
- Prepare payroll audit documentation and validation logs.
- Generate payroll-related reports including overtime analysis, headcount reporting, and bonus processing support.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Manage employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, FMLA, and leave policies.
- Administer open enrollment, vendor coordination, employee education, and enrollment audits.
- Serve as the primary benefits contact for employees and vendors.
- Process new-hire enrollments and terminations of coverage.
- Maintain benefits billing reconciliation, 401(k) audit support, 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, and compliance reporting.
- Complete required government, state, and federal reporting (DOL, BLS, workers’ comp, 401(k) audit, etc.).
Organizational Communication, Engagement, Training Compliance, Safety Support
- Maintain HR documentation, case files, and historical records.
- Support manufacturing leaders and cross-functional teams as needs arise.
- Coordinate OSHA reporting, incident investigations, safety committee coordination, training, and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain safety records, hygiene program support, hazardous materials documentation, and audit readiness.
- Lead handbook updates, company newsletters, and communication tools.
- Coordinate employee engagement programs, charitable initiatives, recognition programs, and suggestion systems.
- Maintain relationship tracking and communication with Tokusen USA and other partner entities.
- Support HR administrative functions including security systems, cameras, keys, vehicles, and miscellaneous reporting.
- Maintain training records, certification tracking, and collaborate with Quality on audit readiness.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration.
- Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws.
- Strong communication, organizational, business partnership, and confidentiality skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred).
