Price Industries is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in our Winder, GA plant. The successful candidate will report to the HR Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operations and flow of work for the Human Resources Department, including reports as required on timely basis.  Primary responsibility is human resources support encompassing recruitment, new-hire orientation, staff development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training.  Works closely with manufacturing to ensure the support system is in place to assist as needed.  Oversees the implementation of and adherence to existing and new policies and procedures and provides input. Main contact for the Union representatives on issues that may arise along with other related Human Resources functions as assigned.     

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & hiring of hourly personnel & coordination with temporary agency on rates and service

  • Orientation of new hires & temporaries

  • Regular training with Supervision and Lead Hands on policies, plant procedures, discipline and equal and fair treatment of all employees i.e. employee relations.

  • Maintain company bulletin boards in plant and office along with all legal postings

  • Main contact for manufacturing for guidance

  • Administration of enrollments for 401k plans (Salaried and Hourly)

  • Maintains Human Resource compliance with ISO certification

  • Coordinates and handles hourly plant restructuring and layoffs as per policy and contractual obligations

  • Policy interpretation.

  • Work cooperatively and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both verbal and written.

  • Keep employee postings and plant TV up to date.

  • Administer disciplinary warnings for minor violations (Attendance/No Call, No Report and Category C violations.)

  • Assist with coordination of benefits to include:

  • Annual open enrollment and answer coverage questions.

  • 401K orientations and enrollments.

  • Vacation, holiday and leave questions/concerns.

  • Administer disciplinary warnings for minor violations (Attendance/No Call, No Report and Category C violations.)

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, OR

  • One to two years’ experience in the HR field, OR Any similar combination of education and experience

  • Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources. Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Knowledge of office administration procedures.

  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.

  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
