The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the operational, clerical and technical human resources related duties and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, orientation, employment processing (life cycle), and interpretation of personnel law and hospital policy. Works under minimal supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

General Functions:
Develops and implements recruiting strategies
Screens and interviews applicants for job openings
Processes new hires
Manages processes for ensuring complete and organized employee records and databases
Coordinates and assists employees with policy interpretation, benefit administration, compensation and payroll activities
Compiles, analyzes and reports on employment data
Participates in revision and implementation, and provides feedback, on HR policies, procedures and forms
Assists in orienting staff on issues, policies and procedures
Assists with employee relations issues, recognition events and special projects
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Participates in Performance Improvement Activities

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate degree
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Four or more years as HR Generalist. Background in employment law.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Eight or more years 
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: PHR/SPHR
