POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for assisting their HR Business Partners with the administration of all employee programs including time & attendance tracking, healthcare benefits & retirement programs, and recruiting prospective hourly candidates. The successful candidate will be an employee champion while aligning with operations management for their designated business units. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating needs proactively with our HR Department and each business unit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs new-hire onboarding and required paperwork/data entry for all employees including education of benefit programs such as medical, vision, dental, disability & life insurances and 401(k) plans.
  • Investigates employee benefit-related problems and works with internal & external partners to resolve the issue and/or to ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.
  • Assists with benefits administration including administration of benefits enrollment annually and for new employees; scheduling annual biometrics; reconciling benefit statements; pulling reports from various vendors, entering data into the HRIS system, etc.
  • Administers the attendance point system, advising the HR Business Partners of disciplinary actions required on a regular basis.
  • Maintains active and inactive hourly employee personnel records.
  • Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department as needed (e.g. correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS updates).
  • Proactively identifies retention issues and provides timely communications to the HRBPs.
  • Prepares and distributes HR correspondence to employees.
  • Efficiently responds to employment verifications and assists HRBPs with time & attendance items.
  • Conducts telephone and/or in-person applicant screening, assessment interviews and facilitates candidate feedback process to assist the HRBPs.
  • Assists the HRBPs with weekly employee roster maintenance and gathering HR metric data for monthly reporting to their business unit.
  • Assists the Leave Management group with tracking FMLA and other leave programs.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Schedules & facilitates employee training and corresponding records.
  • Manage data from the HRIS systems to provide the functional metrics including running reports and analyzing data (turnover, promotions, pay changes, etc.).
  • Manage HR department invoices and reconciliation in SAP.

REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements):

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, not required but strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years in a Human Resources related role preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and computer & analytical skills
    • MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel and Power Point)
    • ADP preferred
    • Workday preferred
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Great customer service skills, and work well as a team & individually
  • Communicate effectively both in written and oral communications
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and adjust to changing schedules and priorities
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
  • Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with all levels of employees and management
  • Effectively execute duties with minimum direction
  • Capable of training and providing instruction in both written and verbal format
  • Detailed knowledge of federal and state labor laws
