Position Details 

Summary/Objective 

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Under the direction of the Employment Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for all human resource activities to including, but not limited to daily employee inquiries, orientation, employment verifications, reporting, disciplinary actions, and training and development.  Further, the HR Coordinator formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.  

Essential Functions 

  • Facilitates & maintains all onboarding items for incoming candidates joining the organization 

  • Facilities & maintains all-day new hire orientation, in collaboration with the department’s HR Generalist(s) 

  • Champions the Student Programs for the organization, including but not limited to: establishing relationships with schools in the area nearest to the communities we serve, initiation and monitoring of affiliation agreements with respective schools & universities, facilitating student onboarding & placement with provider(s), implementing student orientation 

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. 

  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. 

  • Employee lifecycle management to include data entry into HR systems. 

  • Compile and run various HR reports 

  • Monitor Human Resources emails; quickly accessing needs, respond, and or forward accordingly 

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. 

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, while assisting with updating and communicating changes regarding the Employee Handbook. 

  • Complete employment verifications whenever they are requested from outside entities. 

  • All other duties as assigned by the Employment Manager and/or Senior Director of Human Resources

Work Environment 

Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent personal and telephone contact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.  

Travel 

Travel outside of Northshore locations will be rare for this position. 

 

Required Role Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 
     

Preferred Role Qualifications 

  • Two years of experience working within a healthcare setting.  

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Human Resources accredited certified (PHR, SHRM, etc.)

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
