Position Overview

    GTI is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support day-to-day Human Resources operations across the employee lifecycle. This position will support HR administrative functions such as maintaining employee records, processing personnel documentation, tracking compliance requirements, assisting with benefits administration, and supporting HR programs and initiatives. The Human Resources Business Partner works closely with leadership and employees across departments to ensure HR processes are handled efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with organizational goals and company culture.
    The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, professional, and able to handle confidential information with discretion while thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

    Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Create a seamless pre-employment experience for new employees while guiding them through the drug and background check process and other pre-employment activities
  • Conduct onboarding for new employees including documentation preparation, orientation, and timely communication
  • Process employee status changes including transfers, promotions, wage adjustments, and terminations
  • Ensure consistent onboarding and offboarding standards
  • Support timely employee record updates within HRIS systems
  • HRIS, Records & Data Management

  • Maintain and update employee records in our HRIS and other systems with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ensure personnel files, HR documentation, and records are complete, organized, and audit-ready
  • Complete I-9 paperwork for new hires to ensure legal compliance, conduct I-9 audits to ensure accuracy
  • Generate reports on headcount, turnover, attendance, onboarding, benefits, and other HR metrics as needed
  • Support data audits and data integrity initiatives; respond to information requests and verification inquiries
  • Payroll & Timekeeping Support

  • Coordinate timekeeping processes including attendance tracking, punch corrections, approvals, and payroll data validation
  • Work with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely employee pay processing
  • Respond to employee questions regarding pay, timekeeping, deductions, and tax withholding
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
  • Benefits Administration & Employee Support

  • Help employees with GTI’s benefits programs including enrollment, qualifying events, and documentation
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries; communicate benefits information, open enrollment, and wellness initiatives and know when to escalate to benefits team if necessary
  • Coordinate with Benefits Administrator on eligibility, claims, and compliance
  • Maintain benefit records and supporting documentation
  • Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and workplace matters
  • Conduct employee counseling, interpret company policies, and provide guidance on workplace issues
  • Identify potential employee-relations concerns and escalate to site leadership or corporate HR as appropriate
  • Conduct investigations into claims of policy violations or harassment with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Support training and development initiatives that improve employee capabilities and engagement
  • Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Support compliance with federal and state labor laws, company policies, and OSHA requirements
  • Assist with audits, documentation requests, I-9 verification, workers' compensation claims, and required reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee information
  • Coordinate policy acknowledgements and ensure employee communications are clear and timely
  • Track compliance requirements and coordinate with corporate HR on regulatory updates
  • Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Help facilitate employee engagement events, recognition programs, and culture-building initiatives
  • Support HR programs and communications that improve morale, retention, and workplace experience
  • Promote a positive and service-oriented HR presence on-site
  • Assist with internal communications and employee-facing announcements
  • Administrative & Cross-Functional Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the site HR function including correspondence, scheduling, reporting, and inquiries
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and site leadership on HR-related processes
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining responsiveness and accuracy
  • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned
  • Escalate complex issues to HR leadership team for guidance and resolution

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in HR administration, HR coordination, or employee relations roles
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employee relations fundamentals, and labor law basics
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional presence
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or multi-site environment preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and payroll software
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and employee wellness programs
  • Experience supporting high-volume hourly or direct labor workforces
  • Background in employee relations, investigations, or compliance
  • Experience with workers' compensation or unemployment claims administration
  • WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
    The role is a salaried position with flexible hours to meet business needs.  The position must maintain a visible presence and be available to support all shifts when necessary.  The position may require extended hours, weekend work, and availability outside of normal business hours to address operational issues, emergencies, or critical business needs.  Work occurs primarily on-site at the Wilmington facility, with exposure to manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor areas.
