As the largest non-profit provider of children’s and adolescent mental health services in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, Casa Pacifica specializes in treating children and young adults who struggle with complex mental health challenges such as emotional dysregulation, self-harm, anxiety, and depression. Our multi-disciplinary staff of highly trained clinicians, psychologists, educators, therapists and mental health workers provide exceptional, evidence-based care to help our youth overcome a wide array of mental health challenges.
Casa Pacifica’s Camarillo, Goleta, and Santa Maria offices work with more than 2,000 at-risk children, families, and young adults annually in outpatient, residential, home, and community-based settings. Our main Camarillo campus, located on 25 acres of beautiful park-like grounds, provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for youth to overcome challenges, to find hope, and to heal.

SUMMARY:
The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team. This role helps ensure efficient, organized, and responsive HR services for employees while supporting the organization’s mission of serving youth and families.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable handling confidential employee information. The HR Assistant will support a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, HR communications, compliance, and general administrative activities.

Starting pay is typically between $22.00 and $32.00 hourly; however, starting pay is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated by typical activities):
HR Administration
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee HR records.
- Assist with HR data entry, reporting, tracking, and documentation.
- Prepare letters, forms, spreadsheets, reports, and other HR-related materials.
- Respond to routine employee questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.
- Maintain HR team meeting calendars, deadlines, and organizational systems.
- Oversee the bilingual testing process.
- Track employee education assistance requests, approvals, documentation, and related program information.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Assist with posting job openings and coordinating recruitment activities.
- Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates during the hiring process.
- Support background checks, reference checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment documentation as applicable.
- Prepare onboarding materials and coordinate new-hire orientation.
- Ensure new-hire paperwork and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Employee Support
- Assist employees with routine questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, timekeeping, and related matters.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, staff events, and internal communications.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Assist with benefits enrollment and employee benefit-related inquiries.
- Support payroll-related processes by collecting, reviewing, and maintaining required payroll information.
- Track employee changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, leaves, and status changes.
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits providers as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

A valid driver’s license is required. Any changes that occur on your driving record must be reported immediately to your supervisor and Human Resources.
