About the Role & Program:
The Product & Tech Analytics team is seeking an intern to join the Analytics Experimentation Center of Excellence (COE). This role offers hands-on experience collaborating with key teams across the business-Data Science, Data Engineering, Product, Programming, and more. The intern will support two main projects:
1. Experiment Knowledge Base Development: Curating a comprehensive knowledge base of experimentation domains, covering product surface areas, key stakeholders, relevant metrics, analyses, and queries.
2. Program Impact Measurement: Developing an analytical summary of COE success by implementing a measurement framework that guides program development and evaluates key outcomes.
As part of the COE, the intern will gain valuable skills in analytics, project management, executive communication, and streaming analytics business strategy.
What You Will Do:
On any given day you might:
- Support analysis and provide recommendations by compiling experiment results into a centralized knowledge base
- Contribute to program-wide initiatives and experiment result read-outs
- Design and implement a measurement framework to track program success and guide improvements
- Track and report program metrics, including time-to-completion, ticket closures, and effort distribution
- Collaborate with product stakeholders to optimize the Disney+ and Hulu streaming experiences
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Please apply if you have:
- Experience using SQL, Python, or R for complex queries, data analysis, and performance optimization
- Strong curiosity, analytical mindset, and passion for data-driven insights and business impact
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, type I & II errors, power analysis, t-tests, chi-square tests, regression analysis, Bayesian methods, and central limit theorem concepts
- Ability to foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
It would also be great if you have/are familiar with:
- Experience with Python (e.g., pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) or analogous R libraries for computation and data visualization
- Ability to identify potential issues and effectively escalate to leadership
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
Education:
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's with a major in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a related major
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:
- • Fully available from Monday through Friday, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
- • Provide full availability for the entire program duration: May/June - August/September 2025 (12 weeks)
- • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Santa Monica, CA
- • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
- • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
The pay rate for this role in Santa Monica, CA is $30.00 per hour.
