HSSE Business Partner - NSW & ACT

As the HSSE Business Partner, reporting to the Head of HSSE, you will partner closely with operational leaders across the retail network to embed safe behaviours, strengthen safety culture and improve safety performance. This field-facing role will provide practical coaching, guidance and support to State Managers, Area Managers and Store Managers across our retail network.

You will provide:

• Coach operational leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability and build safety ownership across the retail network.
• Support Store Managers and Area Managers to embed safe work practices and promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, learning and accountability.
• Conduct site risk assessments, safety observations, reviews and compliance checks across the retail network.
• Support leaders to identify, manage and escalate operational safety risks and monitor corrective actions through to completion.
• Provide practical recommendations to improve safety compliance, risk management and overall performance.
• Support the investigation and follow-up of safety incidents, including coaching leaders to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Monitor incident trends and communicate key safety learnings across the network.
• Support stores to maintain emergency response readiness and safe ways of working.

• Partner with Operations, Store Enablement, Group Safety and Group Security to implement Group HSSE requirements.
• Provide HSSE advice and support across operational initiatives, change programs and day-to-day decision-making.

• A qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in workplace health and safety, ideally within an operational or multi-site environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety risk management, incident investigation and assurance practices.
• Proven ability to coach frontline leaders and operational teams to improve safety outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple levels of an organisation.
• A practical and solutions-focused approach to identifying, managing and reducing operational safety risks.
• Experience within retail, convenience, fuel, QSR or other complex multi-site environments will be highly regarded, as will relevant safety certifications or experience implementing safety culture or behaviour-based safety initiatives.
