WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;

Promoting and maintaining IKO safety goals and ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Leads safety and housekeeping efforts and corrective actions within department, assigned projects, and areas with goal of zero incidents. Exemplifies safety in all actions and leads by example.

Developing goals, objectives, and systems as well as plant wide policy and procedures relating to health and safety. Communicates and implements progressive methods and approaches regarding accident prevention.

Identifying health and safety hazards and investigate work related accidents in an effort to eliminate those hazards through engineering controls, training, PPE adjustments, etc. Conduct thorough root cause analysis to ensure root cause is eliminated in response to any safety related incident.

Managing all activities related to safety and workers’ compensation including, first report of injury, OSHA 300 log, safety related audits, communication with insurance carrier, communications with physicians & associate and all record keeping.

Completing all safety audits, records, and reports on time and as required. File and maintain safety records as required.

Monitoring the safety performance and trends of the plant and minimize the number of work- related incidents to protect the safety of associates and to minimize the company’s risk and exposure.

Accountable for the implementation and management of Behavior Based Safety.

Accountable for coordinating with external providers for successful claims management and return to work practices.

Ensuring the company is in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Local, and Company health and safety regulations or policies including OSHA, TOSHA, NIOSH, etc.

Leading IKO Safety and BBS teams.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.

Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments with a proactive attitude.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to develop and manage a budgetary control process for areas of responsibility.

Analytical, data-driven problem solving and action planning skills.

Ability to make independent and well thought out decisions.

Organized, self-starter, results oriented, unique problem solver.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products.

Professional certification in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental engineering preferred. I.E. – CSP, CIH

A bachelor’s degree in health and safety management or related field and at least ten (10) years’ experience in a high-speed process manufacturing environment with at least five (5) years in a leadership position preferred.

Understands full legal requirements and laws with regards to Health, Safety, and Human Resources
