Job Summary**
The HSE Specialist ensures the health, safety, and environmental compliance of Primoris Services Corporation's operations, minimizing risks and promoting a safe work culture.
Job Responsibilities**
* Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Provide HSE training to employees and contractors on various topics, including hazard communication, confined space entry, fall protection, and emergency preparedness.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
* Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
* Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
* Stay informed of new HSE regulations, best practices, and technologies, and recommend updates to company policies and procedures.
* Participate in safety meetings and committees, promoting a proactive safety culture.
* Prepare and submit required HSE reports to regulatory agencies.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
* 2+ years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within construction, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors.
* OSHA 30-hour Construction certification preferred; additional certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) are a plus.
* CPR certified and instructor preferred.
* Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local HSE regulations (OSHA, EPA).
* Proven ability to conduct effective safety training and presentations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
