PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and at-risk assessments at facilities and job sites.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage emergency preparedness programs, including fire protection, evacuation planning, and drills.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify hazards and implement effective controls.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee PPE programs, ensuring proper selection, use, and compliance.
  • Lead safety committees/councils to promote engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Promote and maintain a positive, proactive safety culture across all levels of the region.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from executive leadership to hourly employees.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for HSE Specialists.
  • Partner with HSE Director and HSE leadership to align site programs with company initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by HSE leadership.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a safety-related role.
  • Completion of OSHA 511 preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in utilities, data center, or industrial environments strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, OHST) preferred but not required.
