Job Overview:
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and at-risk assessments at facilities and job sites.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate and manage emergency preparedness programs, including fire protection, evacuation planning, and drills.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify hazards and implement effective controls.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage and oversee PPE programs, ensuring proper selection, use, and compliance.
- Lead safety committees/councils to promote engagement and continuous improvement.
- Promote and maintain a positive, proactive safety culture across all levels of the region.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from executive leadership to hourly employees.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for HSE Specialists.
- Partner with HSE Director and HSE leadership to align site programs with company initiatives.
- Perform additional duties assigned by HSE leadership.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a safety-related role.
- Completion of OSHA 511 preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
- Experience in utilities, data center, or industrial environments strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910).
- Professional certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, OHST) preferred but not required.
