We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to provide functional leadership and strategic influence across our NSW and ACT operations, helping guide HSE direction, strengthen governance and support safe, compliant delivery. This is a senior, collaborative role for a trusted HSE professional who can balance strategic leadership with practical business partnering. You will work closely with operational leaders, project teams and HSE professionals to drive safety performance, risk management and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a recognised HSE leader who brings sound judgement, effective stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate strategy into practical outcomes. You will be comfortable operating across complex environments, advising senior stakeholders and mentoring others to build HSE capability. You will also:
Provide strategic HSE leadership across NSW and ACT, supporting safe, compliant and sustainable business outcomes
Lead the delivery of HSEQ&R strategies, governance requirements and operational HSE performance across the territory
Partner with business leaders, project teams and clients to identify, assess and manage HSE risks
Provide specialist advice on HSE policy, procedure, legislation, compliance obligations and risk controls
Coach and mentor operational leaders and HSE professionals to strengthen capability and embed a proactive safety culture
Monitor emerging HSE trends, regulatory developments and business risks, translating insights into practical actions
Support incident response, investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Lead and contribute to HSE planning, reporting, budgeting and performance management activities
What you will bring to the team:
You will bring a blend of technical HSE expertise, people leadership and commercial awareness, with the ability to engage, advise and build trusted relationships across all levels. You will also have:
Demonstrated HSE leadership experience in a large, complex or geographically dispersed organisation, ideally a consulting environment
Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and contemporary HSE practice
Experience leading HSE teams, building capability and supporting performance outcomes
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships across operations, projects and enabling functions
Experience developing, implementing and improving HSE management systems, initiatives and reporting frameworks
Strong analytical capability, with sound judgement and confidence working through complex or ambiguous issues
Relevant qualifications in health and safety, environmental management, engineering, science or a related discipline
Auditor qualifications, consulting experience or client-side project delivery experience will be highly regarded
