Summary Generated by Built In

At DP World, our people are central to our success. As our Contract Logistics business continues to develop, we’re looking for an engaging and commercially minded HR Business Partner who can support our operational teams while helping develop the next generation of leaders across our UK network.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on HR business partnering with a strong focus on leadership development, coaching and talent progression. You’ll work closely with operational leaders across three sites in Minworth and Coleshill, supporting the full employee lifecycle while helping managers build the skills and confidence to lead their teams effectively.

You’ll play an important role in identifying future talent, strengthening succession plans and personally delivering practical development sessions that help colleagues progress into team leader, supervisor and management positions.

The role will initially focus on your assigned sites, with the opportunity over time to contribute to wider people and leadership initiatives across DP World’s UK locations.

This is a site-based role, so regular travel between locations is essential. A full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport are required.

How you will contribute

  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders across our three sites in Minworth and Coleshill, providing practical HR advice aligned with business needs.
  • Lead and support a small team, providing direction, coaching and development to help colleagues deliver effective, consistent people support across the business.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, absence, capability, disciplinary and grievance matters, workforce planning, recruitment, retention and engagement.
  • Identify leadership and people-management capability gaps, working with site leaders to agree priorities and development plans.
  • Design and personally deliver engaging, practical face-to-face workshops, group sessions and virtual learning to develop aspiring and existing team leaders, supervisors and managers.
  • Coach managers to strengthen their skills in communication, delegation, feedback, performance management, difficult conversations and leading through change.
  • Support succession planning and talent reviews, identifying high-potential colleagues and potential successors for key leadership roles.
  • Develop progression pathways and individual development plans, helping colleagues prepare for their next career step through targeted learning, coaching, mentoring and practical experience.
  • Evaluate the impact of development activities, using feedback, people data and manager insight to improve capability and workplace behaviours.
  • Collaborate with the wider People Team and operational specialists, contributing to people initiatives and leadership development across DP World’s UK network as the role evolves.
  • Promote an inclusive, engaged and safety-focused culture, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and relevant employment legislation.

What you will bring

  • Experience in an HR Business Partner or similar operational HR role, ideally within a multi-site or operational environment.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and personally delivering management or leadership development sessions, both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Experience coaching managers and supporting colleagues moving into their first leadership positions.
  • Knowledge of talent development, succession planning, talent identification and individual development planning.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, ACAS guidance and employee relations practices, with confidence managing complex cases and influencing operational leaders.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels and challenge constructively.
  • A practical, commercially aware approach, balancing immediate operational priorities with longer-term people and leadership development.
  • Confidence using HR systems, people data and feedback to identify development needs and assess the effectiveness of interventions.
  • A CIPD qualification, ideally Level 5 or above, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • The organisation and flexibility to manage competing priorities and travel regularly between sites.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport, as the role is site-based across Minworth and Coleshill, with potential travel to other UK locations as the remit develops.
