SUMMARY
The Human Resources Business Partner II is responsible for coordinating and supporting the human resources activities for the Westlake Royal Building Products Commercial Groups (WRBP), which includes the sales, customer service, marketing and product development functions. This position will build positive relationships within the groups and is the liaison with leaders. Activities include resolution of employee issues, communication of corporate policies and procedures, compensation related activities, recruiting, providing training and educational programs; supporting management through the performance management processes, counseling with managers/supervisors on significant discipline and termination decisions for employees.
This position must reside in the western region of the US (mountain or pacific time zones) and within driving distance of a Westlake facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:

Counsel managers, supervisors and employees on various human resources activities to include policies and procedures, benefit plans, job-related concerns and issues, interpersonal relationships with peers and supervisors.

Administers activities related to employment practices. Work closely with the Westlake recruiting team to recruit, screen, interview, and hire employees.

Advises managers and supervisors with employee relations issues, complaints and terminations. Ensures progressive discipline policies are administered fairly and consistently.

Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs for employees.

Assist local and HR management in executing employee development plans to maintain the highest level of qualified personnel

Conducts human resources related training.

Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, absence programs for employees.

Participates in compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions or adjustments in conjunction with Total Rewards.

Maintain all safety records (Incident Tracker database, internal Accident Log, OSHA Log, Quarterly Incentive data) and ensure their accuracy if applicable.

Responsible for accurate recording and data entry of employee information in HRIS and Payroll (Workday)

Responsible for administrative duties including invoice coding and processing, bulletin board maintenance, maintaining files and assisting with events.

Any additional duties and tasks as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred.

5-7 years progressive HR experience. 3+ years’ experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
