Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Staffing, People Operations, or University/Academic Relations.
  • 7 years of experience developing, executing, and managing recruiting, campus recruiting, or outreach programs at scale.
  • 5 years of experience developing, leading, and managing a team.



Preferred qualifications:

  • 9 years of experience in university relations, recruiting, and/or programs.
  • 5 years of experience managing teams with performance management, mentorship, and coaching of team members.
  • Experience leading and scaling partnerships with HBCUs and HSIs (on and off campus) to create pathways for students to the technology industry.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) fundamentals within corporate environments.
  • Ability to build collaboration, credibility, and relationships quickly across functions and levels, and delivery/impact at scale in organizations.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally (i.e. remote teams) and build effective personal networks across a complex, fast-moving organization.

The Pathways and Partnerships Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Outreach Team is focused on providing simplicity of access to Google with clear entry points for underrepresented populations in the Technology Industry.

We also partner internally with other education teams and programs.

In this role, you will lead a team to develop university outreach and inclusive program strategies to drive a representative talent pool to Google. You will develop and maintain relationships with internal (e.g., alumni volunteer, employee resource groups, advocates, etc.) and external stakeholders to deliver on data-driven, programmatic strategy to develop partnerships and meet application and hiring demand.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary range between $169,000 - $181,000 bonus equity benefits.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with universities to provide project-based research opportunities for students and faculty, and create content to provide workshops to student organizations.
  • Provide clear pathway consultation, eliminating redundancy in campus engagements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Outreach/Engagement Specialists.
  • Leverage data and analytics to set and influence Google's HBCU/HSI partnership strategy in alignment with DEI and Recruiting strategies.
  • Understand HBCU/HSI issues, trends, policies, and opportunities to drive sound business decisions and strategic planning.
