We’re currently looking for an HR Program Manager who shares this mission and wants to contribute to our people team as we continue to grow.


ABOUT THE ROLE 🤹‍♀️

As an HR Program Manager, you’ll help us make Truebill the best workplace in the world for talented, hard working, mission-driven people. On a day to day basis, you’ll work on developing and managing programs  that help all Truebill team members feel seen, understood, and valued. This position reports to the Senior People Operations Manager, and is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in people operations at a growing startup. This is an in-person role at our office located on the red line in Silver Spring--it is required that the person in this role be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. 


On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Lead complex, cross-functional People projects from conceptualization to execution
  • Contribute to strategic planning for people-related programs (e.g., employee engagement, individual contributor to manager process, people plans, people OKRs, organizational changes)
  • Identify process improvement engagements; audit and assess processes, design improvements, and create new processes
  • Manage and maintain the HRIS to support efficient delivery of information to employees, managers, and leadership
  • Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex and/or sensitive matters
  • Organize and coordinate Leave of Absence meetings with employees. Ensure that employees understand their responsibilities while on LOA
  • Stay current with regional and federal legislation and practices as well as address any challenges or opportunities related to employment legislation and policies
  • Work with our PEO to administer health and wellness benefits, and own administration of other benefits, including but not limited to commuter and 401k. Maintain employee enrollment data.
  • Oversee the administration of visa and immigration requirements
  • Assist with regular People Ops reporting


ABOUT YOU 🦄

  • You have 4+ years of HR Generalist or Programs experience, including experience with benefits administration, compliance, and HR law (ACA, FMLA, etc.)
  • You have a Bachelor's degree or higher education
  • You have experience with coaching, managing, or implementing a strategy for diversity, equity and inclusion in core HR functions.
  • You can communicate clearly and with empathy
  • You are passionate about supporting financial literacy and Truebill's mission of improving the financial health of everyday people
  • You have applied knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
  • You have experience dealing with ambiguity, and performing in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and evolving processes and systems


Strong Candidates will also have:

  • Active PHR, SHRM-CP, or higher certification
  • Experience with people analytics and data-driven decision making
  • Experience with leading HR technology (at Truebill: Rippling, Slack, CultureAmp, and Greenhouse)
  • Experience in scaling and communicating policies and programs with an emphasis on inclusivity
  • A belief that the core work of a People Operations team is to create a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace -- and ideas on how to make that happen.
