We're looking for a head of People Ops to support our rapidly growing team and keep our organization growing strategically and sustainably.

About This Role

As a key member of our People team, the head of People Ops will be a strategic partner to Hologram leaders and an advocate for every teammate. This role reports to the VP of People and will work closely with the People team, Finance team, and Admin team as well as coordinate with colleagues from all functions across the organization.

What you'll do:

  • Build and lead a team focused on developing human-centric and legally compliant human resources, policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Design and manage operational processes for people team workflows globally to support a positive employee experiences across the employee lifecycle. Continuously review/audit processes and data, identify opportunities to streamline processes and procedures, and recommend and implement solutions
  • Oversee the maintenance of People Ops policies and procedures. Draft, modify, and implement company policies and procedures as needed
  • In partnership with general counsel, advise leadership on all human resources issues using your deep knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and best practices in human resources and talent management
  • Stay current with regional legislation and practices as well as address any challenges or opportunities related to employment legislation and policies
  • Build meticulous HR foundations that can scale exponentially, including outside the U.S. into other countries
  • Oversee and manage the workflows, reporting, and record-keeping of all back-end HR/compliance domains (eg. HRIS, onboarding and offboarding, payroll, visas, employee agreement management, compliance, etc.)
  • Manage and oversee the administration of all leave programs globally
  • Handle employee relations and performance management processes including reviews, formal grievances, disciplinary processes, and terminations
  • Provide data, insights, and guidance to org leaders on topics including performance improvement, learning and development, and conflict resolution
  • Develop and oversee strong people management and organizational development strategies built on diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Guide a healthy and psychologically safe workplace culture across the organization, infusing Hologram's values and operating principles into everything we do

Helpful skills and experience:

  • Multiple years of human resource management experience, with at least 2-3 years of that experience at a rapidly scaling start-up of (growing from a team size of 100 to 300+)
  • Exceptional HR functional expertise. You know policies/procedures, payroll, onboarding/offboarding, and labor and employment law (at the state, local level, and international levels) like the back of your hand
  • Proven track record of building high-quality, scalable programs and systems in all core HR areas
  • Strategic and/or business development experience
  • Strong leadership skills to guide, support and motivate an HR team
  • A passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied HR software applications. Opinionated about what's needed at each stage of growth.
  • Experience hiring outside the U.S.; creating entities or working with PEOs
  • People Operations Certification (i.e., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, etc.) preferred
  • Sound judgement with solid ethics and morals
  • Process-oriented with significant technical expertise and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deeply listen and effectively verbalize complex ideas
  • You thrive on doing critical work behind the scenes to provide a seamless candidate and employee experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
