HR Specialist

Huhtamaki’s Foodservice segment currently has a fantastic opportunity for a HR generalist to join our HR team in Gosport as a HR Specialist. In this role, you will cover a wide range of HR responsibilities, including supporting, coaching and advising managers to ensure full compliance to HR policies and procedures across the Gosport site.

Where you’ll be
Due to the business facing nature of this role, the HR Specialist will be based at our Gosport site 4-5 days per week.
What you’ll be doing
Effectively managing the recruitment of staff up to management level within the UK business.
Acting as liaison with external agencies and bodies; ensuring internal compliance, performance and cost criteria are met.
Supporting and directing Managers in the delivery of Performance Management and Capability procedures.
Advising on legislation, policy, risk and best practice.
Supporting and directing Managers in the delivery of disciplinary and attendance management processes, advising and acting as liaison with Occupational Health service providers.
Develop, implement and review employment policies, incorporating changes in legislation, business need and best practice within the Gosport Employee Handbook.
Effective compilation and management of key HR metrics – including; attendance, retention, skills management and talent development. Providing meaningful information to stakeholders and resolve questions arising.
Development of effective training materials associated with local policies or initiatives as and when directed.
Competent delivery of training materials to Managers and staff and requisite coaching, where appropriate.
Act as key contact in the development and improvement of company HR administration processes; including Pensions, Private Health Insurance, company car administration etc.
Ensure that all key personal data associated with employees is accurate, secure and integrated with other local processes such as Payroll.
What you’ll bring to the role
3-5 years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge and experience of managing all aspects of employee relations, including recruitment, discipline & grievance and complex sickness cases.
Detailed knowledge of employment legislation and best practice.
The ability to advise, guide, negotiate with and influence employees and managers alike, both verbally and in writing.
Proven ability to find solutions and analyse information from a variety of different sources.
The ability to produce written material to a high standard e.g. job adverts, letters, reports, contracts of employment and policies and procedures.
Strong communications skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organisation.
Ability to prioritise and work under pressure against tight deadlines.
Excellent IT skills with experience of personnel information management systems, Workday experience is a plus.
A personable and approachable demeanour, with tact and diplomacy.
Ability and willingness to manage conflict.
A flexible, can-do attitude
CIPD Diploma preferred
