Your role and responsibilities
We are now looking for a new HR Specialist to join the ABB Finland HR team in Vaasa for a temporary contract, ending on 31.12.2026. In this role you will be supporting the team with various HR tasks.
As an HR Specialist of the HR Operational Services team, you will be responsible for delivering HR Service support to the HR community, managers and employees. You will provide a high level of support for internal customers, with accurate and timely processing of information for all stakeholders mainly focusing on supporting our employees in Finland. Additionally, you will be using 2025 launched global HR system Workday and time management system JotBar.
This role will include multiple different HR related tasks, but the final content will be defined based on the background, skills and interests of each selected applicant. This means the job can be well-suited for someone that already has experience of working in HR as well as for someone with more general work experience from customer service roles and a high level of motivation towards HR.
For example, you could be responsible for:
- Delivering HR support to the HR community, business managers and employees according to defined Service Level Agreements
- Processing HR requests related to multiple service lines (Employee Life Cycle, Compensation & Performance, Payroll, and HRIS) for an assigned group of employees
- Providing a high level of support e.g. via ticketing tool and phone service for internal customers, with accurate and timely processing of information for all stakeholders, while ensuring that quality controls are maintained
- Identifying opportunities for improvement based on feedback and experience with customers and taking the lead on process improvement projects
- Communicating information regarding policies and standards on assigned processes to internal customers in a clear and concise manner to ensure understanding and adoption
- Preparing accurate reports and documents for internal customers and external authorities
- Ensuring that all systems and databases remain up to date with current employee and organizational information, maintaining a high level of data quality and accuracy and providing on-demand reports where required
Qualifications for the Role
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from a relevant field, e.g. Economics or Administration, recent or soon to be graduates can be considered
- Understanding of HR practices and processes with a passion for problem solving with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within set schedules
- Previous experience in HR related tasks or a high motivation towards the field
- Knowledge of Technology Industry Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Knowledge of Workday, SAP HR and JotBar is considered as a benefit, MS Office tools knowledge
- A collaborative, proactive, solutions-oriented approach to work with and strong communication skills
- A team player attitude with the ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Fluency in Finnish, both in written and spoken
- Previous experience from project work is considered a benefit
