Job Description

We are looking for a HR Specialist to support key HR functions, including employee relations casework, manager training, compliance, and collaboration across HR teams. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid in Maryland Heights, MO.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise and support on employee relations cases (e.g., grievances, discipline, performance improvement plans, absences, terminations), conducting investigations when needed

  • Assist in developing and delivering manager training on employee relations and people practices aligned with organizational standards

  • Observe safe workplace behaviors, engage with employees and supervisors, and ensure compliance with workplace regulations during site visits

  • Support HR policy alignment and compliance with Canadian labor laws, updating policies, handbooks, and contracts as needed

  • Provide input to global Centers of Excellence (COEs) on Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Culture, and Engagement, ensuring compliance and effective communication in French/English

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to deliver operational HR support, including promotions, employee relations, hiring/onboarding, and separations

  • Review compensation data and prepare recommendations for job offers, salary increases, promotions, and retention aligned with compensation philosophy

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and HR colleagues, delivering solutions to support business objectives

  • Support workforce planning by coordinating hiring, restructuring, and capability development activities

  • Partner with HRBPs to implement culture, inclusion, and engagement initiatives

  • Liaise with legal counsel and represent the company in legal or mediation proceedings related to employees

  • Support communication to Canadian employees, coordinating translations as necessary

  • Partner with leadership teams and HRBPs to implement performance management, including disciplinary actions and performance plans

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in employee relations and labor relations

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an HR discipline

  • Extensive knowledge of HR laws and regulations

  • Experience in a manufacturing and union environment

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and leadership over phone and in person

  • Sedentary work with occasional need to attend meetings or move around office environments

$30 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
