Our HR Rotational Program (HR2P) offers an experience focused on addressing critical needs across Microsoft’s People organization while building the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving workplace. Intern assignments are aligned to critical business needs and provide opportunities to contribute to high-impact transformation work across the People organization.
Throughout the summer, interns receive mentoring, feedback, and development support, along with access to a strong community of program alumni committed to their success.
This opportunity allows you to apply classroom learning to real business challenges while enjoying a summer in the Pacific Northwest. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time positions in Microsoft’s People Organization at the end of the summer.

HR Rotation Program (HR2P)
Responsibilities:
This 12-week internship program is thoughtfully orchestrated to provide you with strategic projects, exposure to company leadership, and work that will directly impact the business. As a People intern at Microsoft, you will be at the center of the company’s transformation, contributing to our company’s culture to help leaders, teams, and individuals model our cultural attributes and drive the business forward.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) OR Master's Degree in Human Resources (HR)
- Must have at least one (1) semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence individuals at all levels of the organization
- Willingness and ability to proactively learn and grow with the company
- Ability to tie HR work to business outcomes
- Ability to be a strong partner in a team-based environment
- Ability to drive results in a dynamic environment

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,740.00 - $11,320.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $7,550.00 - $12,490.00 per month.
