The objective of this project is to review and adapt our Kenya HR policy manual to align with the employment laws and regulations in Tanzania. The consultant will ensure that the manual covers all statutory obligations that the organization has towards its employees in Tanzania.

Deliverables:

The consultant is expected to deliver the following:

1. A comprehensive review of the existing (Kenya) HR policy manual, identifying gaps and areas that need adaptation.

2. Revised HR policy manual with all necessary changes and amendments aligned with Tanzanian employment laws.

3. Recommendations for any additional policies or procedures required to ensure compliance in Tanzania.

4. Updated and legally compliant employment contract templates for employees in Tanzania.

5. Thoroughly review and analyze the existing Kenya HR policy manual to identify areas that need adjustments for compliance with Tanzanian employment laws.

6. Identify any gaps or areas where new policies or procedures need to be added to meet statutory obligations.

7. Research Tanzanian employment laws to ensure accurate alignment with local regulations.

8. Edit, revise, and update the HR policy manual to reflect the necessary changes and ensure compliance with Tanzanian employment laws.

9. Provide clear guidance on how to implement and communicate the revised policies and procedures to employees in Tanzania.

10. Review the existing employment contract templates and compare them with Tanzanian employment laws to identify any necessary changes.

11. Make necessary amendments to the employment contract templates to ensure compliance with Tanzanian employment laws and regulations.

12. Ensure that all statutory obligations of the organization towards its employees are appropriately included in the contract templates.

13. Guide on statutory obligations of the organization to employees, such as minimum wage requirements, working hours, and leave entitlements in Tanzania.

14. Advise on employee benefits, including health insurance, pension plans, and any mandatory social security contributions required under Tanzanian law.

15. Offer recommendations on best practices for compliance with employment laws in Tanzania.


Timeline:
The consultant is expected to complete the scope of work within 3 weeks from the start of the project. A detailed timeline and milestones will be established in collaboration with the consultant.


Reporting and Communication:
The consultant will provide weekly progress updates to the relevant stakeholders and project manager throughout the duration of the project. Communication channels may include email, virtual meetings, or any other means agreed upon by both parties.


Requirements
  • Proven 5+ experience in HR policy development and adaptation, preferably in multinational settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within specified timelines.
  • Legal background or certification in employment law would be advantageous.
