Position Summary
The HR Intern will support the Human Resources Operations team with a primary focus on I-9 compliance, personnel file auditing, HR document management, and HR administrative support. This role provides hands-on experience in HR operations, compliance, HRIS processes, and employee records management within a fast-paced corporate environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, able to maintain confidentiality, and interested in developing a career in Human Resources.
Key ResponsibilitiesI-9 Compliance & Auditing- Assist with reviewing and auditing Form I-9 documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Support internal I-9 audit initiatives and identify missing or incomplete documentation.
- Track I-9 completion deadlines and follow up with employees and managers as needed.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining I-9 records in accordance with federal retention requirements.
- Support E-Verify and employment eligibility verification processes, as applicable.
- Help prepare audit reports and tracking spreadsheets related to I-9 compliance.
- Audit employee personnel files for completeness and compliance.
- Scan, upload, index, and organize employee documents within Dynafile.
- Ensure electronic employee records are accurately maintained and properly categorized.
- Assist with file clean-up and records retention projects.
- Identify missing documentation and coordinate follow-up efforts with HR team members.
- Assist with HRIS data entry and employee record updates in systems such as ADP and Costpoint.
- Support data validation and perform routine audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Update employee demographic, organizational, and personnel information as directed.
- Assist with maintaining HR trackers, spreadsheets, and reporting logs.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding administrative tasks.
- Prepare HR documents, letters, and employee packets.
