Job Title: HR Manager

Company Overview
Our client is a newly opened boutique hotel in the heart of Victoria Island, Lagos, dedicated to delivering exceptional, personalized guest experiences. As we build our founding team, we are looking for an HR Manager who will shape our people culture from the ground up.
Role Summary
The HR Manager will own the full spectrum of people operations, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and employee relations, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain hospitality talent that reflects our brand of warm, world-class service.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and an employee handbook aligned with Nigerian labour law
Manage end-to-end recruitment for all departments (front office, housekeeping, F&B, kitchen, maintenance, security)
Design and run onboarding and hospitality service training programs
Administer payroll inputs, leave, attendance, and benefits
Drive performance management, appraisals, and staff development plans
Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes fairly and confidentially
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, pension, NSITF, ITF, HMO)
Foster a positive workplace culture with strong staff engagement and retention
Advise management on organizational structure, staffing budgets, and manpower planning
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years' HR experience, with demonstrable experience in the hospitality industry (hotel, restaurant, or resort)
Solid knowledge of Nigerian labour law and statutory compliance
Experience recruiting and managing shift-based, customer-facing teams
Strong interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and communication skills
Proficiency with HRIS/payroll software and Microsoft Office
CIPM certification (or in view) is an added advantage
Skills Required
