Job Description

Are you ready to shape the future of work at Axis Communications?

As the HR Manager for South Asia Pacific (SAP) region, you will spearhead the regional people agenda, ensuring alignment with business strategy and organizational goals. Acting as a strategic partner to the Regional Director and management team, you will translate business priorities into high-impact HR initiatives that support growth, performance, and employee engagement.

Being a core member of the regional management team, you will integrate people-centric considerations into all strategic, tactical, and operational decision-making. You will oversee the full HR spectrum—including talent acquisition, learning and development, total rewards, and organizational development. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring HR compliance and high policy standards, adhering to local labour laws and regulations.

Based in Bangalore, India, you will also lead the HR function, supported by HR Specialist, and collaborate closely with the wider APAC HR community. South Asia Pacific covers Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, and India SAARC.

In this role, you will be expected to:

Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment

  • Act as a trusted HR Business Partner to the Regional Director and management team, directly influencing business strategy and organizational decision-making.

  • Translate regional business objectives into actionable HR strategies and initiatives for the region.

  • Lead and support management through change initiatives, enhancing communication and fostering organizational development.

Operational Excellence & Talent Management

  • Spearhead the implementation of critical HR processes, including performance management, talent development, and succession and workforce planning.

  • Provide strategic oversight of the employee lifecycle management—from onboarding and continuous development to offboarding process.

  • Ensure the delivery of efficient payroll services and provide high-level guidance and support to the HR Specialist.

Compliance, Culture & Governance

  • Ensure HR compliance across all SAP countries, navigating complex labor laws, compensation and benefits regulations, privacy and workplace regulations.

  • Act as a cultural ambassador, deeply embedding Axis core values and culture throughout the organization.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance HR scalability, operational efficiency, and regional best practices.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop the HR team, taking full responsibility for performance and growth, including the effective management of remote reports.

  • Partner with the broader APAC HR community to align on global initiatives while sharing regional insights and best practices.

Your Background & Experience

  • University degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Manager role within a multinational/international environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing HR operations across multiple territories, with a solid understanding of India labor law and exposure to Southeast Asia (SEA) countries regulations.

Functional & Leadership Excellence

  • Strong knowledge across the full HR spectrum, including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Compensation & Benefits (Total Rewards).

  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop direct reports remotely, fostering high engagement and performance across geographically dispersed teams.

  • Hands-on experience in Change Management and Organizational Development (OD) initiatives.

  • Strong leadership presence with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Mindset & Skills

  • A high degree of self-awareness, integrity, and EQ, essential for navigating diverse cultural landscapes.

  • A structured, proactive, and results-oriented approach, with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Tech-savvy with a keen interest in leveraging HR systems and digital solutions to drive efficiency.

  • Exceptional command of English (written and verbal). Proficiency in additional regional languages is a significant advantage.

  • Strong organizational skills with a history of delivering complex projects on time.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certification in behavioral assessments (e.g., DISC, NLP) or a proven background in designing and delivering impactful learning workshops.
