- Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst to join the Chief Data Office's Enterprise Data Issues Management (EDIM) team. This role will serve as a lead individual contributor responsible for supporting audit, regulatory exam, and Audit readiness, overseeing issue remediation and validation risk activities, enhancing data control oversight, and strengthening policy adherence monitoring across a complex, highly regulated environment.,
- The role will support oversight and coordination across enterprise data management activities, requiring strong partnership across a matrixed organization, sound risk judgment, and the ability to provide credible challenge while helping stakeholders deliver sustainable, well-documented, and exam-ready outcomes.
- Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
- Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
- Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
- Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
- Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
- Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
- Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
- Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
- Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
- Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
- Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
- Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
- 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Lead issue remediation activities - Reviewing issue details, assisting in validating corrective actions, and ensuring proper documentation of closure evidence. Escalate any gaps or concerns to ensure risks are appropriately addressed.
- Lead control oversight activities - Assisting in monitoring control execution, identifying potential gaps in design or execution, and helping recommend improvements to enhance consistency and standardization. Escalate observations for further review where needed.
- Ensure audit and exam readiness - Coordinate readiness assessments, review supporting evidence, and enable complete, accurate, and defensible responses to Audit, IT&V, and regulators.
- Enable proactive issue identification and risk transparency - Support monitoring of issue portfolios by assisting in tracking trends, identifying potential risks, and helping raise timely escalations. Contribute to remediation activities by ensuring issues are followed up and addressed appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise data management and risk policies - Support compliance with applicable data management, operational risk, and governance requirements, and identify gaps to drive alignment with established policy standards and procedures.
- Experience in Audit, US regulatory exam, data management, risk management, compliance, issues management, control oversight, or related business support functions, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Experience supporting policy adherence, issue remediation, audit or exam readiness, validation readiness, or control-related activities in a regulated environment
- Strong ability to analyze documentation, identify risk and control gaps, and provide effective challenge across business and technology stakeholders
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and align decisions with established risk appetite, governance expectations, and regulatory considerations
- Strong verbal, written, and executive-level communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, actionable messages
- Experience working in a matrixed environment and partnering across first-line, risk, control, audit, and technology teams
- Experience assessing control design and execution, identifying control gaps, and recommending simplification, standardization, or automation opportunities
- Experience with data management, risk management, compliance, issues management, control oversight
- Familiarity with enterprise policy adherence monitoring, governance routines, and documentation/evidence management practices
- Experience supporting audit, US regulatory exam, controls testing engagements, including readiness assessments, evidence gathering, and response coordination
- Knowledge of issue management lifecycles, corrective action development, remediation monitoring, and validation risk considerations
- Familiarity with operational risk programs and frameworks, including self-assurance activities, control inventories, and related governance requirements
