Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Intern to join our team and provide invaluable support to our business site. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in HR operations in a fast paced, medical device manufacturing setting and gain insight into our company’s approach to Creating Quality for Life. The mission of the HR intern is to contribute to KEIND’s success by providing support for our recruiting, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives. This is a Summer 2025 onsite position.
Position Summary
The HR Intern is responsible for supporting the recruitment and onboarding process of new team members from the start by assisting with interviews and coordinating new hire orientation. You will be supporting day-to-day needs of the business, as well as leading employee engagement efforts. You will be a champion for employee engagement and community involvement opportunities to get people involved. You will be the owner of an awesome project to evaluate our current records and determine efficient ways to improve and ensure legal compliance.
Basic Background Requirements:
- Enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Human Resources, Business, Management, or similar.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Basic computer skills including ability to learn HRIS system, ERP system and other softwares
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Understanding of employment and labor laws and HR best practices
- Creative thinker, willingness to learn
- Microsoft Office suite skills preferred
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment
- Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
Key Performance Objectives
Short Term: (0 to 1 months):
- Learn and adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture
- Establish relationships with key individuals at KEIND
- Gain familiarity with Kimball Electronics onboarding processes
- Support efforts to plan and execute employee engagement activities
Longer Term: (1 to 3 months):
- Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities
- Support employee onboarding program
- Lead and coordinate employee engagement activities
