About the Role

As a Human Resources Generalist at Maverick Pipe, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will serve as the primary onsite Human Resources resource for our facility in Richmond, KY. You will play a key role in supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, policy administration, and workforce development initiatives while helping strengthen the facility’s culture and employee experience.

This position requires strong communication skills, employee relations expertise, and the ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders across all levels of the organization. You will collaborate closely with plant leadership and corporate HR teams to support workforce integration, employee engagement, and the continued alignment of the facility with Maverick Pipe operating standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

  • Assist with incident investigations, emergency response coordination, and corrective action follow-up.

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, onboarding, and workforce integration.

  • Develop talent pipelines through partnerships with schools, workforce agencies, community organizations, and local employment resources.

  • Facilitate new hire orientation programs that emphasize safety, performance expectations, and company values.

  • Deliver onboarding and orientation programs to ensure employee understanding and engagement.

  • Serve as the primary bilingual communication resource for employees and leadership.

  • Facilitate communication between employees and management to ensure clear and effective understanding.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and leaders regarding workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.

  • Implement employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities.

  • Champion and promote the Maverick Pipe culture throughout the facility.

  • Coordinate employee recognition programs, including birthdays, work anniversaries, milestone achievements, and peer recognition efforts.

  • Organize employee appreciation events, meetings, and engagement activities.

  • Maintain visibility throughout the facility and across shifts to foster positive employee relations and retention.

  • Support attendance management, corrective action administration, PTO tracking, and related employee processes.

  • Administer and document corrective actions consistently and in accordance with company policy.

  • Conduct workplace investigations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Serve as the onsite liaison between plant employees and the corporate training function.

  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, completion tracking, and workforce development initiatives.

  • Conduct skills gap assessments and support workforce planning efforts.

  • Assist with succession planning, career development, and coaching initiatives.

  • Support organizational growth and workforce alignment as the facility continues to evolve.

  • Administer employee lifecycle activities, including new hire processing, transfers, benefits coordination, and terminations.

  • Maintain accurate employee records within Workday, UKG, and other company systems.

  • Review temporary employee timecards, resolve discrepancies, and support payroll processing.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

  • Provide administrative support to plant leadership, including scheduling, document preparation, and file management.

  • Maintain employee communications, bulletin boards, and facility-wide messaging.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • SHRM certification preferred.

  • Experience with Workday and/or UKG preferred.

  • Experience supporting Human Resources functions within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with diverse employee populations.

  • Strong conflict resolution, employee relations, and corrective action administration skills.

  • Strong cultural awareness and commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.

  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
