Job Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Employee Experience, the Employee Experience Generalist will assist in human resource functions and services of the People Department to support corporate employees within Extra Space Storage, as well as contribute to company growth and performance. The incumbent applies human resource policies, programs, knowledge, and practices to provide a balanced, strategic program throughout the assigned departments. The position provides guidance assistance to corporate, other functions within the company, and executive management to promote a productive organization, employee effectiveness and successful operations.
Primary Responsibilities

Foster and build relationships with key corporate leaders by implementing a clear understanding of company-wide human resource policies, strategies, and programs

Collaborate with leaders to manage employee relations cases, including coaching, development, and separation processes.

Perform stay/exit interviews as needed, compile and analyze data to present common themes and trends.

Conduct specialized training sessions as needed, such as HR-related trainings.

Assist with managing leaves of absence and workplace accommodation requests through the interactive process.

Conduct onboarding check-ins with new hires at the 30-, 60-, and 90-day marks to ensure a smooth transition.

Engage in HR projects and initiatives to improve HR processes and support organizational goals.

Process updates in Workday and internal HR systems
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor's Degree in HR Management or related field

1-2 years of relevant human resource generalist experience and/or training.

Experience working with Workday (preferred) and Performance Management systems

Proven ability to build relationships at all levels within assigned area.

Ability to effectively translate complex information into clear and effective messages.

Goal oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills to resolve sensitive issues with employees including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising, rewarding, educating, and disciplining

PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work in an office environment with limited lifting (less than 10 pounds) or walking required. Close visual acuity required to perform work at computer terminal. No exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires repetitive typing motion, talking, hearing, grasping and feeling.
