We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist with a strong background in Workers' Compensation, Leave of Absence Administration, and Reasonable Accommodations. This role will serve as a key resource to employees and management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while providing exceptional employee support throughout the employee lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing complex employee relations matters, disability and leave programs, interactive accommodation processes, and workers' compensation claims.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Workers' Compensation Administration
- Manage all aspects of workers' compensation claims from initial report through claim closure.
- Coordinate with employees, managers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Monitor claim status and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
- Facilitate return-to-work and transitional duty programs.
- Maintain compliance with applicable workers' compensation regulations.
Leave of Absence Administration
- Administer and track employee leaves
- Evaluate leave eligibility and provide employees with required notices and documentation.
- Maintain accurate leave records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with employees and managers regarding leave status, requirements, and return-to-work processes.
- Lead the interactive process for reasonable accommodation requests.
- Assess accommodation requests and collaborate with employees, management, healthcare providers, and legal counsel as appropriate.
- Develop and implement reasonable accommodation solutions while maintaining business effectiveness.
- Maintain confidential medical documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with ADA and other applicable disability and accommodation laws.
General Human Resources Support
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support employee relations investigations and conflict resolution efforts.
- Assist with performance management and corrective action processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Assist with special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of progressive HR experience, experience administering workers compensation claims and leave of absence and accommodation experience.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (UKG a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred
- Multi-state employment law experience.
- Experience in a high-volume or multi-location environment.
- PHR certification
What’s our Pay rate?
- $68,000/year-70,304/year plus bonus opportunities.
- The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
