About the Company

The CAM Collective (TCC) is a holding company that acquires and supports community association management Member Companies across the country. Our mission is to raise the bar in an industry that has been under-invested in for decades, and we do that by giving our Member Companies real infrastructure, real support, and real people behind them.

The People function sits at the center of that promise. When HR runs cleanly, employees at TCC and across the service Member Companies feel supported, compliance stays tight, and leaders get their time back to do the work only they can do. When it does not, everything else slows down.

This seat is for someone who wants to own the administrative backbone of HR for a company that is early enough to shape and serious enough to matter. You will be closer to the decisions than you have been in past seats, and the work you do will compound.

Position Overview

The HR Generalist owns the day-to-day administration of HR for a population of roughly 100 to 115 employees: about 50 at TCC internal and 50+ across the service Member Companies. You will run Rippling as its primary administrator, own benefits administration end-to-end, keep the compliance calendar on track, and process every onboarding, termination, and employee change that moves through the system. You will also support the MC People Partner with templates, toolbox organization, and new-MC intake.

You will partner closely with TCC Finance on payroll and audit coordination, with TCC internal team leaders on onboarding and employee changes, and with HR contacts at the service MCs on benefits and payroll questions. The role is heavily hands-on in year one, with room to grow into workflow design, HRIS strategy, and responsible use of AI to automate recurring processes as you close the backlog and build the backbone.

This role reports to Kelly Franco, Director of People. Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 per year, plus 5% annual bonus target.

Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 base, plus 5% bonus

Key Responsibilities

Rippling Administration & HR Systems

  • Own day-to-day Rippling administration for TCC internal and service MC employees, including new hires, terminations, employee changes, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain automated workflows in Rippling to reduce manual processing over time.
  • Utilize AI responsibly to automate recurring HR processes and procedures where it improves speed, accuracy, or employee experience.
  • Support the evaluation of the current HRIS to confirm Rippling fits TCC's needs or identify a better-fit system.
  • Keep HRIS data clean and audit-ready across multiple entities and states.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

  • Run the administrative side of onboarding for all TCC and service MC hires, including offer paperwork, I-9 and E-Verify, benefits enrollment, and Rippling setup.
  • Process employee changes (comp, title, entity, state, manager) accurately and on time.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for TCC and service MC employees on benefits questions, payroll changes, and general HR admin.
  • Deliver a clean, consistent employee experience from offer accepted through day one.

Benefits & Compliance

  • Own benefits administration end-to-end: open enrollment, new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain the recurring compliance calendar (ACA reporting, I-9 maintenance, workers' comp audits, 401(k) audit prep) and partner with TCC Finance where the work overlaps.
  • Keep personnel files, org charts, and HR documentation organized and audit-ready.
  • Track state registrations and multi-state payroll implications as TCC and the service MCs grow.
  • Perform monthly audits - balancing the 401(k) contributions and benefits charges to payroll

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with TCC FinOps on payroll cycles, 401(k) audit coordination, and reconciliation.
  • Support the MC People Partner with template creation, toolbox organization, and new-MC compliance intake.
  • Coordinate with HR contacts at the service MCs on benefits, payroll, and onboarding questions.

What Success Looks Like

  • The open Rippling backlog is closed and stays closed. No pending onboardings, terminations, or employee changes older than the current pay cycle.
  • Kelly's calendar visibly shifts toward strategic work because administrative processing is no longer a daily draw on her time.
  • Every compliance filing (ACA, I-9, workers' comp, 401(k) audit prep) is on time and clean, with no material findings.
  • TCC internal employees and service MC contacts route HR admin work to you directly because they trust you to handle it fast and get it right.
  • You have shipped meaningful automation in Rippling, including responsible use of AI where it fits, so the manual work per new hire keeps going down.
  • The HRIS evaluation is completed on your watch, with a clear recommendation and supporting analysis.

RequirementsQualifications
  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in a multi-entity, multi-state environment.
  • 2+ years administering a modern HRIS (Rippling, Workday, BambooHR, Paylocity, ADP, UKG, or similar) as a system administrator, not just a user.
  • Working knowledge of the full HR admin cycle: onboarding, benefits, compliance, payroll changes, and personnel file management.
  • Experience supporting employees across 2+ legal entities and 3+ U.S. states, with a working understanding of multi-state payroll and compliance implications.
  • Comfortable partnering with Finance on payroll and audit coordination.
  • Proactive, direct, and organized. Able to close a backlog and build workflows that do not exist yet without waiting for perfect process.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Experience utilizing AI responsibly in an HR context (automation, drafting, data cleanup, employee-facing communications) preferred.

BenefitsCompensation & Benefits
  • A hybrid position in the Chicagoland area.  Occasional travel for company events is required.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Short-term Disability and Life Insurance
  • 401K Match
  • Unlimited PTO
