POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will report to the local HR Manager at Litchfield, Michigan. The person will support HR functions and serve as a resource for employees regarding HR related policies & procedures in a positive environment at the plant. The position will oversee attendance functions, and assists with onboarding, payroll, or other HR functions as assigned.


KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead attendance maintenance, tracking and reporting.
  • Assists with creating and managing attendance write-ups for hourly associates.
  • Support HR functions including on-boarding, training, payroll, and other HR functions as needed. 
  • Resolve associate issues and complaints to maintain a positive environment. 
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions, and the lobby window. 
  • Advice associates and other managers regarding personnel policies, procedures, and employment laws. 
  • Assist with recruitment and interview process for hourly and temporary associates.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate data, and files in HRIS & ERP systems.
  • Promote an associate relations environment that is consistent with long-term management objectives.
  • Manage various associate service programs including vending service, uniforms, office supplies, etc.
  • Provide information to employees, coordinates, and updates the HRIS for leaves or absence programs including but not limited to FMLA, short term disability, paid parental leave, and long term disability. 
  • Assist with payroll functions.
  • Conduct audits of attendance, payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Process unemployment claims.
  • Assists with garnishments through 3rd party companies, and manages child support garnishment & medical orders.
  • Plan/coordinate associate events such as summer picnic, service awards, social committee, etc.
  • Continuously seeking ways to improve processes and reduce administrative burdens.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.


Functional Experience

  • 1-3 years’ of experience in a human resources function.
  • Knowledge of employment law, ADA, FMLA, and related government programs necessary

Other Requirements

  • Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as printers and plotters.
  • Sometimes works around factory equipment.
  • Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects - up to 25 pounds.

Skills Required

  • 1-3 years of experience in a human resources function
  • Knowledge of employment law including ADA and FMLA
  • Experience with HRIS and ERP systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent experience
  • Able to lift, carry, or move objects up to 25 pounds
