- Serve as the primary HR Consultant and single point of contact (SPOC) for all HR matters in Nigeria.
Provide end-to-end HR advisory and operational support across constituencies in scope.
Assess and diagnose HR challenges and organizational needs within Nigeria and recommend practical, business-aligned solutions.
Act as SPOC for in-country union and employee relations matters, providing guidance in line with local labor legislation and company policy.
Align Nigeria HR initiatives with Regional HR and overall business strategy while ensuring local relevance and compliance.
Support the implementation and tracking of HR policies, processes, and governance frameworks across constituencies in scope.
Partner with managers and leadership teams to strengthen people management capability and drive effective HR practices.
Support the definition, localization, and rollout of competency frameworks for relevant functions and drive competency gap assessments with actionable development plans.
Support and coordinate the job requisition process for vacancies within scope and provide advisory input on candidate selection and final hiring decisions.
Support HR Managers and Directors in piloting innovative HRIS systems and driving employee engagement in development initiatives.
Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across Regions and introduce external best practices and innovative HR insights into HR Business Services activities.
Support the development and delivery of Learning & Development and Talent initiatives in line with the organizations' HR processes and policies.
Implement learning strategies locally and drive Regional Key Learning Initiatives within Nigeria.
Develop and coordinate the implementation of core learning support tools (coaching, mentoring, 360 feedback, learning events etc.) to strengthen capability development.
Review and provide input on performance management policies and processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Advise and support management in ensuring adherence to company health and safety protocols by promoting awareness and facilitating access to necessary resources.
Requirements
- Relevant degree and at least 8-10 years of working experience in HR.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR manager positions in multinational matrix organizations.
- Experience in manufacturing organizations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and negotiations with Unions.
- Experience with HR Information System
- A master’s degree will be an advantage.
- Strong preference for candidates open to transitioning to permanent HR Director.
- Strong people management & coaching skills.
- Integrity and diplomacy whilst being perseverance in reaching results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in English, French is a plus.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
