- Be a trusted advisor, providing support from the executives to the employees within the teams that you own
- Execute global and local People programs and processes (e.g., talent management, organizational planning, performance management, development planning, compensation planning, onboarding, offboarding)
- Provide business leaders with data, findings, and recommendations of client organizations' "health" by assessing trends in performance, span of control, employee engagement, manager feedback, attrition and turnover, etc
- Collaborate with others (People team COEs, cross-functional partners, Business Partner peers, etc.) to build world-class initiatives
- Coach and influence managers on how to build an amazing team
- Own and drive GTM-wide people projects
- Enable leaders to make data driven decision
- Serve as a liaison to the Employee Relations Team on any regional-specific investigations and terminations
- Serve as JPAC labor law expert - help define global-to-local processes, policies, and programs while recommending and implementing required local people initiatives. Train teammates on regional compliance topics. Partner with Miro’s employment counsel team
- Maintain compliance across Australia, Japan, and Singapore - handle compliance reporting, government filings, workers compensation, and conduct regular audits to ensure all regulatory requirements are met in cooperation with the legal team
- Work with the Tokyo workplace team to ensure compliance with the required physical employee records and receive physical mail related to HR and benefits
- Handle escalated/time-sensitive support queries for the JPAC region from Miro’s People Help Portal
- Work closely with the Payroll Team on JPAC payroll inputs
- Help support benefits programs in the region
- Actively seek ways to improve People processes and practices through AI and technology
- Provide Japanese translation support for employee-related matters, including government filings, benefit contracts, and documentation (for candidates with Japanese proficiency)
- 5+ years of deep and progressive experience as a strategic HR Business Partner
- Experience with supporting GTM organizations in SaaS companies in the JAPAC region.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coach, influence, and partner with various levels of employees
- Proven experience and a passion for collaboration across teams (People team COEs, cross-functional partners, HRBP peers, etc.)
- Ability to contribute through change management; help adjust the culture and improve overall effectiveness of the business and teams
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to connect the dots and make sound decisions - you know when to ask for help
- Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
- Understands the importance of building a diverse and inclusive workforce on a global scale
- Comfortable with data and using data to provide insights to help advise and influence business decisions
