The Role

Adyen is looking for a hands-on and proactive HR Business Partner to support our growing San Francisco office. In this role, you will be the primary HR point of contact for local leadership and the "eyes and ears" on the ground.

You will act as a trusted advisor across the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring our San Francisco teams are supported, engaged, and aligned with the Adyen Formula. This role is perfect for someone who loves to "connect the dots", bridging the gap between global HR initiatives and local execution while navigating the day-to-day needs of a fast-paced office.

This role is based in San Francisco and works in close collaboration with the North America and Global People teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the go-to HR partner for San Francisco Team Leads and Managers, providing coaching on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and people leadership.
  • "Connect the dots" across different functions in the San Francisco office to ensure office-wide engagement, and a strong sense of community.
  • Drive local execution of performance management, enabling managers to have high-quality growth conversations and effective feedback loops.
  • Provide support for employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and a healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Expertise and the wider NA HRBP team to implement people initiatives that fit the San Francisco context.
  • Use local people data to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and suggest improvements to the local employee experience.

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of HRBP experience, ideally in a fast-paced tech or high-growth environment.
  • You naturally build relationships across all levels and departments; you enjoy being visible and accessible in the office.
  • You are comfortable jumping from a high-level talent discussion to a practical day-to-day HR task without missing a beat.
  • You have a proven ability to coach first-time managers and Team Leads through the complexities of leading people.
  • You have a "builder" mindset and look for ways to simplify processes rather than just following a handbook.
  • You can articulate fact-based solutions clearly and handle sensitive conversations with high emotional intelligence.
