Gilbane is seeking an HR Business Partner II to be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with local business partner and senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting/employment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance. This role will sit primarily in office.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations problems, either directly or through advice to management 
  • Manage College Hiring and Intern Programs (includes career fair attendance and, interviewing and hiring candidates to meet Business Unit College graduate hiring goals. 
  • Participate in the recruitment process by discussing staffing needs with management, interviewing key hires and make recommendations to management for hiring decisions 
  • Participate in Staffing meetings to ensure workforce planning data is captured and updated to reflect current needs/availability 
  • Provide advice to managers on employee wages and salaries to administer the Salary Planning Process 
  • Champion the annual performance appraisal process to ensure completion 
  • Organize and conduct new hire orientation 
  • Conduct Exit Interviews to develop Lessons Learned  
  • Coordinate and participate in the annual Succession Planning process   
  • Actively participate in Business Unit and Corporate HR Strategic plan initiatives  
  • Maintain awareness of current and changing employment laws 
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BS or MS degree 
  • 5 to 8 years’ human resource experience, or a master’s degree in human resource management and two years’ experience in the HR field 
  • Or 7 years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience 
  • 3 years minimum of HRBP experience required
  • International Business Partner experience 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred but not required

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    

For California and Arizona this ranges from $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan. Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • 5 to 8 years of human resources experience
  • Master’s degree in human resource management and 2 years of HR experience, or 7 years of HR experience, or a similar combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of HR Business Partner experience
  • International Business Partner experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS software
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
